The Philippine 2 peso coin was a denomination of the Philippine Currency. It was minted by the Central Bank of the Philippines.
In 1983, The BSP Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas introduced 2 piso Coins as part of the Flora and Fauna Series. The was decagon-shaped or 10 sided and with a composition of copper-nickel.
The metals used in each coin was also changed due to inflation. These 2 piso coins was not included when the BSP Series was introduced.
In year 2000, the 2 piso coin and other coins in the original Flora and Fauna Series & Improved Flora and Fauna Series was withdrawn, making the coins officially demonetized.
