Hospitals in Hong Kong are struggling to keep up with an influx of coronavirus patients.
The new wave of infections comes as the city's leadership sticks to its “zero-COVID-19” strategy and mainland China's leader put pressure on the local government to control the situation.
The global financial hub is expected to require proof of vaccination before entering public venues next week and all in-person classes have been suspended until next month.
