Today Aussie Garage had the pleasure to interview a Car Enthusiasts that has a original 1972 XA Ford Falcon GT that was left sitting in the shed for over 20 years. This XA Ford Falcon GT has been owned by seven owners in its life and starter in the Goldfields of Western Australian and the current owner sat in this XA GT at 7 years old and now he knows this. Furthermore, his family worked at the Westland Autos in the Goldfields and they also worked on this GT. The XA Ford Falcon Gt was original painted in Wild Violet with white trim, then was painted later as onyx black. However, the XA GT is a Number matching vehicle with way under 80,000km done on the original engine. The interior is all original about from the carpet, hood lining and the seat covers that needed to be replaced after the shed stay for all those years, but surprisingly, it did not need to be resprayed again.
Now the car enthusiast that owns this stunning XA Ford Falcon GT was happy to show the vehicle and gave us the history of the car as far he knows. The XA Ford Falcon GT started in the goldfields and the original owner passed it down to his son and then was traded at Melville Motors in Perth. Now this XA Ford Falcon GT was originally painted Wild Violet but due the bad paint fade, Melville Motors painted the XA GT in Onyx Black with Silver and then sold the vehicle to the third owner. The Fourth owner had it sitting in the shed for over 20 years until the fifth owner purchased the car XA Ford GT and got it back on the road by fixing the interior and detailing the paint. The Six owner then respray the bonnet and the side mirrors to finish the look that was started by Melville Motors to what you see today.
This XA Ford Falcon GT is not register to keep the kms low and the owner is going to do a concourse restoration in time to get the XA GT look like the factory specifications. But for now, he love this car and does not get seen by many people at all, so Aussie Garage is grateful that we were allowed to see the vehicle.
