Mahodand Lake is a lake located in the upper Usho Valley at a distance of about 35 kilometres from Kalam in Swat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The lake is accessible by a four-wheel drive vehicle, and is often utilized for fishing and boating.
Very difficult place to visit. Road conditions are too bad. You can get there in your personal car. You have to hire local car which will be around 5000 to 12000 pkr depend upon car. The place is very beautiful like heaven.
Water is very cold even in month of june july , good place for camping though. But the road is very broken . It Takes 3 hours from kalam to Mahodand lake. Journey is very tiring.
The lake is only accessible during the summer season but access during winter is limited. It’s covered by heavy snow. High risk of avalanches. Expect snow even in summer.
The road to the lake is gravel. It’s tricky and bumpy. It’s called Saifullah Lake Road. It’s 24.0 km long from Matiltan. Drive with care as this is a mountain road with hairpin curves and dangerous dropoffs. It’s pretty narrow. The lake is only accessible during the summer season but access during winter is limited
