Gumnami Baba was an ascetic who was widely believed to be an incarnation of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a prominent freedom fighter during India's struggle for independence. He was first seen in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, India in the late 1940s and remained there until his death in 1985. He was known to many as Bhagwanji, and had a large following who believed him to be Netaji. Gumnami Baba never confirmed or denied the speculation, instead he chose to remain silent.
