An important Buddhist festival in Sri Lanka is taking place despite a 10-day nationwide COVID-19 lockdown.
However, spectators have been banned from the ceremonies.
Sri Lanka is battling an unprecedented rise in coronavirus cases and deaths as the Delta variant threatens to overwhelm hospitals.
New daily infections have exceeded 4,000 while the number of people dead from the disease has reached nearly 200.
