Hiking Condor Gulch - High Peaks loop in Pinnacles National Park, about 2hrs drive SE of the Bay Area in central CA. This is the top rated hike in this new national park, and it did not disappoint. It includes a good variety of views such as soaring rock spires/pinnacles, waterfalls, lake, tunnels, and caves. Best of all it offers one a chance to get a glimpse of the highly endangered California condors, the largest land bird in North America, with a wingspan reaching 9ft.
