In Bihar, amidst tight security arrangements peacefully polling is underway in 32 constituencies spread over six districts. An estimated 27 electorates have exercised their right of franchise till noon. Maximum 29 percent voting was recorded in Gaya till this time Ignoring naxal threat. Long queues are being seen at most of the booths.
Women especially youths are very muh enthusiastic to cast their votes. In minority dominated areas a large number of womens have come out from their house to cast their votes. A canister bomb of 10 kg was diffused at Khajura village under Megra police station of Gaya district of the state.
Non functioning of EVMs was reported from a few places concerned authorities have removed those EVms. Electoral fortune of 456 candidates including 32 women will be decided during today's poll. Important candidates whose fate will be decided include Bihar Assembly Speaker Udai Narayan Chaudhary and Hindustani Awam Morcha ( HAM) Chief and former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.
Besides Ministers Jai Kumar Singh and Vinod Prasad Yadav, Former state BJP President Gopal Narayan Singh, former Minister Prem Kumar, Mahabali Singh and Ramadhar Singh are also in the fray.
