Prince Louis could make Buckingham Palace balcony debut THIS weekend
PRINCE Louis could make an appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony for this year’s Trooping the Colour to mark his great-grandmother, the Queen's official birthday, a royal expert has claimed.
Kate and Prince William’s baby son has not been seen in public since he was introduced to the world just hours after he was on born on April 23.
And royal watchers hoping to catch a glimpse of the new prince were left disappointed when he didn’t make an appearance at the Royal Wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just a month after he was born.
But royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could bring their third child to the family occasion, which celebrates the Queen’s official birthday.
Richard Fitzwilliams said: “Louis may appear on the balcony. Charlotte did when 13 months old in 2016, George did shortly before his second birthday in 2015.
“The Queen first appeared as Princess Elizabeth in 1927 when she was 14 months old”.
However Prince Louis has not yet been christened, which is when the world was treated to a second glimpse of baby Prince George and Princess Charlotte after they were both born.
Saturday’s Trooping the Colour will mark Meghan Markle’s Buckingham Palace balcony debut when the American royal joins her new husband Prince Harry and the Queen to watch the parade.
The Duchess of Sussex will appear alongside the rest of the Royal Family in a further sign she has been welcomed with open arms into the firm.
Prince Harry was seen for the first time in public yesterday since he is believed to have returned from his honeymoon with Meghan.
The newlyweds had postponed their honeymoon so they could attend Prince Charles’ 70th birthday garden party at Buckingham Palace.
Trooping the Colour is an annual event to celebrate the Queen's official birthday, which dates back to Charles II in the 17th century when regiment colours were trooped in front of soldiers so they could recognise their unit in battle.
Mr Fitzwilliams added: “This ceremony has marked the sovereign’s official birthday since 1820.
"It has been the tradition for the five regiments of foot to Troop the Colour in turn and for the music played to have links to that regiment."
