Brigitte Farah here for the minutes of MetSoc. All your news for the month of November from the metallurgy and materials of the ICM.
I will start with important dates and news.
A reminder that the deadline for the call for papers for the Conference of Metallurgists and Copper 2019 is November 30th. This will be the 10th edition of the International Copper Conference. MetSoc organized this conference in 2007 and we had more than 1000 participants. Call to those interested for a sponsorship or a booth because we have limited places. So check out the symposia and sponsorships available for COM and Copper and follow us on FB and LinkedIN.
Another change at MetSoc- We are moving the dates ahead for the Call for MetSoc Award Nominations. So instead of making the season of nominations from January to March, it will start this month until January. So students wishing to win a scholarship, nominations for the Brimacombe Prizes, Airey and all must be submitted by the end of January.
I would like to thank all those who joined us in Columbus for COM 2018 and the Materials Science & Technology Conference. We will have the photos available on our website shortly and we will also have a chance to see the presentation of our winner of the Airey award, by Sam Marcuson.
The annual meeting at the conference Inaugurated our new President Elvi Dalgaard of Pratt & Whitney and our new Vice President Stephen Corbin from Dalhousie University. Congratulations to you two!
Finally I invite you to visit our video center where you will be able to see all our webinars this year for free. We have just launched our last session entitled
Mining, Ecological Engineering and Metals Extraction for the 21st Century
I thank you for watching this video and I wish you a productive month.
