New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo threatened potential legal action on Sunday following comments by U.S. President Donald Trump this past week that he may withhold the state of New York from the distribution plan of a COVID-19 vaccine, saying he would enforce the legal rights of New Yorkers.
Cuomo went on to say Trump's plan was an "affront" to New Yorkers and he would not allow them to be "bullied or to be abused."
"New York state will mobilize an army to vaccinate all New Yorkers fairly, equitably. No state will do it better," he told a group of churchgoers Sunday.
Cuomo, who has been at odds with Trump during his tenure in the White House, said that he had tried to work with the administration and argue morality and principle the past four years, but "you're better off trying to argue with a rock." He added that COVID-19 was not the only virus attacking Americans, calling racism, sexism, discrimination and division viruses that were also attacking the country.
