We’ll be making Brussels sprouts three ways:
Shredded Brussels Sprouts Salad (fresh, crunchy, and full of flavour)
Halved Butter-Coated Brussels Sprouts (golden, tender, and oh-so-satisfying)
Whole Brussels Sprouts with Asian-Style Sauce (sweet, spicy, and umami-packed)
🥬 Ingredients
For the Shredded Brussels Sprouts Salad
Shredded Brussels sprouts: 320g
Red onion: ½ medium-sized, finely chopped
Red apple:1
Grated parmasean cheese
Coriander: A bunch, finely chopped
Pomegranate seeds: 1 small bowl
For the Dressing:
Olive oil: 5 tbsp
Apple cider vinegar: 3 tbsp
Mustard paste: 1 tbsp (whole mustard or Dijon mustard)
Maple syrup or honey: 2 tbsp
Salt: ½ tsp
Ground black pepper: A generous amount
Garlic: 1 minced clove
Mint leaves: 5-6 finely chopped
For the Halved Brussels Sprouts Recipe
Brussels sprouts: 250g, halved
Butter: 1 tbsp
Salt: To taste
Ground black pepper: A pinch
For the Whole Brussels Sprouts Recipe
Whole Brussels sprouts: 250g
Salt: To taste
For the Asian-Style Sauce:
Olive oil: 1 tbsp
Garlic: 1 minced clove
Ginger: 1 tbsp finely chopped
Chili flakes: ½ tsp
Tomato ketchup: 1 tbsp
Soy sauce: 1 tbsp
Chopped coriander: A handful
Water: As needed to adjust consistency
🧑🍳 Method Overview
1️⃣ Shredded Brussels Sprouts Salad: Fresh and crunchy, with a sweet and tangy dressing made from mustard, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, garlic, and fresh herbs. Tossed with pomegranate, red onion, and fresh coriander.
2️⃣ Halved Brussels Sprouts: Sautéed in butter with salt and pepper, charred to perfection, and tender on the inside. Simple, golden, and irresistible.
3️⃣ Whole Brussels Sprouts with Asian-Style Sauce: Cooked whole and then coated in a delicious sauce made with ginger, garlic, soy sauce, ketchup, chilli flakes, and coriander. Sweet, spicy, and full of flavour!
