In the 2021 Redkite family needs report (found on our website), stated 70% of families did not get the support they needed at the end of their treatment and onwards.
Redkite as a national specialist paediatric oncology community based organisation offers services that can address these needs through our Family Wellbeing Coordinator's.
What is the Family Wellbeing and Transition Program (FWTP)?
The purpose of the program is to improve the wellbeing of oncology families during their hospital stay by providing practical and emotional support, peer support and active linkage to essential Redkite services such as social work and mental health support.
The aim of the Family Wellbeing and Transition Program is to address the gaps in families needs both in the hospital through wellbeing activities and basic emotional support and beyond treatment through linking families to
community based services.
