I completed my first iRacing Nurburgring Endurance Championship race last weekend with my buddy Matt aka CapEm in the Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO. This was the first time I have attempted this race series. It was a cool experience, but it didn't go quite as planned. We first got wrecked by a Mazda Miata MX5 towards the end of the first of four hours. A few laps latter after repairs had been completed I was driving and a Mercedes AMG had a run on me. He was quite aggressive so I gave him room once I realized he was going to force the issue. I gave him around a 1.5 car width room, but he ran into the grass and back across the track to complete a perfect pit maneuver. He flipped us and caused so much damage that we had to be towed back to pit lane and needed 20 minutes of repairs. The Mercedes team that wrecked us eventually crashed out of the race and retired. After the repairs we were knocked back to P32, but stayed with is and climbed back to P18.

Our race didn't go quite as expected. We should have had a top 5, but instead we had to battled back from being wrecked twice. We fell back to P32 and managed to claw our way back to P18.

The iRacing Nurburgring Endurance Series features five classes, GT3, GT4, Porsche Cup, TCR, and the Mazda MX5. The GT3 class includes the Mercedes AMG GT3 and BMW M4 GT3. The GT4 class includes the Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 Clubsport and the Aston Martin Vantage GT4. The Porsche Cup class features the famous Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. The TCR class includes the Audi RS3 LMS and Hyundai Elantra N TC. And for good measure iRacing included the very slow, but nimble Mazda MX5. The race takes place on the Gesamtstrecke VLN configuration.

I have a Viotek 34" Ultrawide Gaming Monitor mounted directly to my Trak Racer TR80. I primarily race iRacing and occasionally Assetto Corsa Competizione.
