On Wednesday, police in Madurai broke a child trafficking ring and recovered two children from couples to whom they had been sold earlier this month by an NGO that had housed their destitute moms. On June 13, police are looking for a well-known NGO director who told the mother of a year-old son, Manickam, that he died of Covid and sold him to a goldsmith in the city. On June 16, Dhanam, a two-year-old girl, was sold to another couple. Azarudeen, a social worker from Sekkipatti in Melur, was the one who raised the alert. To know more, watch the full video!
