Some handy farmers can create just about anything they like in their own workshop. The team from Van Beem Agro in Zeewolde, the Netherlands, created this self propelled sugar beet chaser. Its basis is a late 90s Agrifac ZA 215 EH sugar beet harvester. A second tank was added, complete with elevator, so it can hold nearly 25 tonnes of beet if fully loaded. More than capable for the Vervaet 17-T that is harvesting.
In the field it can run in crab steer mode and with its 1050 tyres it spreads its weight evenly across the soil, preventing rutting. This was its first outing and some things were not working perfectly such as unloading, the steering and more little bits. The field is ploughed afterwards by a John Deere 7530 with Lemken 5 furrow Juwel 8 plough. Two further 7530s with Beco trailers are carting the crop to the farm.
