In today's episode, Padma Shri #KailashKher takes viewers on a journey to the #Kaimur district of #Bihar which is home to one of the oldest active temples of North #India and is a protected site of the Archaeological Survey of India.

The #Mundeshwari Temple was built in around 108 CE and is dedicated to the worship of Lord #Shiva and Goddess #Durga. As per archaeological findings, the temple complex housed an #educational and #religious centre as well, in which Lord Shiva's worship in the form of #Mandaleshwar and Goddess Durga's worship in the form of Mundeshwari were central. The current standing temple, built in the #Nagara style of architecture, houses both the idols, after surrounding structures were destroyed due to environmental causes as well as invasions and plunder.
