CSR stands for collaborative strategic reading. This is a set of instructional strategies aiming at improving reading comprehension through teaching vocabulary acquisition, identifying the main idea, questioning techniques, and synthesizing skills.
CSR is broken into three stages:
i. before reading;
ii. during reading; and
iii. after reading.
Each of these stages has a set deliberate instructional strategy that need to be taught in order for CSR to be affective.
In this video, I will be planning a lesson teaching the important before the reading part of CSR.
