Nusantara, Indonesia's new future capital city, is being built from the ground up on the east coast of the island of Borneo. The relocation of the capital to this future metropolis is predicted to cost $35 billion, and Nusantara is expected to have over 2 million people by 2045.

Jakarta, Indonesia's current capital, is actually sinking. It is plagued by overcrowding and frequent floods, and President Joko Widodo wants to ease some of the strain on Jakarta by building the new capital.
