Really, this is just a variation of an emerging zebra midge with a bit more flash and Christmas spirit! However, jokes aside, this is a very practical pattern to use for midges or chironomids, which often have hints of red and olive. In my home waters, I use this particular fly as a BWO or small caddis pupa.

No matter how you use it or what color you tie it in, I wish everyone happy holidays! Maybe take some time away from the vise to be with family.
