Phalaenopsis orchids though they produce blooms once a year.But the blooms are very showy and stay for around 2-3months
Inorder to get multiple spikes on the plants we should ensure maturity and good health of the plants.
The factors affecting spike count
1)health and maturity of plant
2) particular variety (genetics)
3) Temperature drop.
4) regular feeding (I use seaweed extract and epsom salt on mine)
5) trimming of previous year spikes may or may not affect number of spikes this year
