88 Ethiopian Jews arrived in Israel on Tuesday as part of a massive airlift of immigrants from Quara, Ethiopia.
The newcomers, are among some 40 flights scheduled to transport 3,500 Quara Jews to Israel.
A welcome ceremony took place in Ben Gurion Airport for 88 Ethiopian Jews arriving to a new home.
This group are hoping to find a better life in Israel than the immigrant Ethiopian Jews before them.
Many Ethiopian Jews, who immigrated to Israel during the past few years, suffered great social and economic difficulties.
When they arrived, the government housed them in caravans, as a temporary solution, but in many cases they were left there for long periods.
This time, the newcomers are to be located in better conditions -- the Mevasseret Tzion absorption centre.
Here the children can be educated.
Yuli Edelstein, Minister of Absorption, visited the centre on Tuesday.
