Beef tips / w gravy & rice #recipe
1-2 lbs beef tips
2 cups of rice
2-3 cups of cold water
2-3 tbs of canola oil
1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
1/2 onion (julienned)
1 tsp beef base
2 tbs unsalted butter
1/3 cup of flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Season beef tips with all dry spices and mix to combine. Add canola oil to pan on medium high heat once oil is hot add in seasoned beef tips (be sure not to crowd your pan cook in batches if needed). Cook for 2-3 minutes until beef tips have a nice sear. Remove beef and allow to rest. In the same pan add onions and butter sauté for 2-3 minutes until onions are translucent add in beef base and stir to mix now add flour and stir until becomes clumpy then add water a little bit at a time until flour starts to become smooth allow for gravy to start bubbling and getting thicker then add remaining water. Reduce heat to medium season gravy with salt and pepper to taste. Add in beef tips and cover with top and allow to simmer for 45 minutes to a hour occasionally stirring until beef is tender, cook rice as described in the instructions. Plate any enjoy!!!
