It was quite a surreal experience to witness the mass cremations at the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal. The cremations take place on the banks of the Bagmati River. Hindus believe that if their loved ones are cremated at Pashupatinath Temple, they will join the eternal path and that they will be reborn as humans in the next life. The cremation takes 3-4 hours so what you see here is a glimpse into this solemn ceremony.
