When Bryon Lape stated he would be attending the Self-Sufficient Lifter seminar in Wichita Falls, Texas in mid August, some were asking why. After all, Bryon has been lifting weights for 30 years and has collected information and knowledge from many sources. The simple answer is: Results.
Channel Dad Bryon Lape has a background in Computer Science and Software Engineering. When left too much to his own devices, he quite often over complicates solutions. In his early 40s, this is what occurred in his training. He was spending too much time in the gym and was stuck. He had to simplify. While trying several different things, he finally came across both 5x5 and the Texas method. After several years, Bryon Lape created a training program that addresses his strength desires and his requirements for Ski Patrol. Unknowingly, he started to adopt portions of the Start Strength methods. It was time to officially dig in. Coach Rippetoe seems to have answers that are straight forward and work. Nothing complicated. Just simple solutions that deliver.
The three day Starting Strength Seminar was too long and a seminar just to learn the squat as too short. Bryon Lape needed something in the middle. Something a bit more intermediate. When Mark Rippetoe announced the Self-Sufficient Lifter seminar, Bryon knew he had to go. The first one was in July around the time of his wedding anniversary. That would not work. The other was mid August. While Wichita Falls is really hot in mid August, that date could work. After thinking about it for weeks, Bryon Lape signed up, announcing on Twitter he had done so. The course had been set. Channel Dad will be going to the Wichita Falls Athletic Club. The Road to Rippetoe had started.
Bryon Lape is no stranger to the the Training versus Exercise idea. He blogged about it back in 2016, before he really knew much about Mark Rippetoe. Here is the link to "Exercise. Workout. Train." ([ Ссылка ]). Read it and comment.
What is next for Bryon Lape now that he is on the Road to Rippetoe? He has to read the Starting Strength book and do his homework. Bryon Lape does not want to be a hindrance for the rest of the class. He will have his homework completed on time and looks forward to learning from Mark Rippetoe and his staff of coaches.
The BrainVlog has returned to chronical Brainmuffin's journey to the ends of the Earth to improve his fitness. Channel Dad Bryon Lape has many names and Brainmuffin is just one of them. His other names are Ropeman and Schnurmann. There is way to much to produce.
