Hello everyone.
Today's video talks about the differences between TIG welding and laser welding.
High output is required to achieve deep penetration under the same conditions.
So, how does the welding area change for the two welding methods as the output increases?
As you increase the output of the TIG welding machine, the penetration becomes deeper.
And because the “arc” is larger, the weld bead width also becomes wider.
Accordingly, the heat input area also becomes wider.
Even if deep penetration is achieved, it is not good for the heat input area to become wider.
Increasing the output of the laser welder deepens the penetration.
However, because the arc does not become larger, the weld bead width does not make much difference.
Since heat can be concentrated in a narrow area, it has the advantage of achieving deep penetration through a small heat input area.
As I've shown in other videos before, this is a huge advantage.
Of course, TIG welding would be more advantageous for welding wide widths.
Making good use of these characteristics will allow for more efficient welding work.
In the future, we will introduce situations in which these characteristics can be used.
Thanks for watching and have a nice week.
