We have seen plenty of leaks,regarding the upcoming Google Pixel 6 series till now, including some leaked renders. But now today, putting an end to the speculations, Google has released some images, and even a promotional video of flagship Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro ,months before their announcement,a tactics that they used at the launch of Pixel 4 series.
The details about Pixel 6 series ,has been shared by official Made By Google Twitter account, and it seems there is just enough info to make you excited about the upcoming Google Flagship.
Starting with the design. Google has confirmed that the CAD renders we saw back in May, are accurate. The Pixel 6 series will indeed have that protruding horizontal camera bar, however, the space above the bar is bigger on the pro model. The two phones will have a centered punch hole selfie camera ,while both devices would also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The camera bar will house three cameras on the Pixel 6 Pro, one of which is a telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom,while the other two would be the main camera and an ultrawide camera. whereas ,The Pixel 6 will get only the main and wide angle cameras, which means there is no telephoto camera on the non Pro variant . But bothe Pro and non Pro variants camera setup ,are said to be able to capture 150% more light than before.
There will be a SIM tray slot, at the bottom of the left side of the frame, while the power button and volume control will be on the right side. The frame is curved and we can confirm that it is made of metal, as there are antenna lines visible around it.
Now,coming to the most unique and important aspect of the Google Pixel 6 series, which is its chipset. well it seems the chipset we refered by its codename whitechapel,now has an official name and it is Google Tensor. This is Google’s first smartphone SOC,and its main strength is its ability to process powerful AI, and machine learning models, directly on the device. Google says ,we should see a transformed experience for the camera, speech recognition, and many other Pixel 6 features.
Google also claims, that the processor allows for significant improvement in translation, captioning, and dictation. Tensor, enables a more personalized software experience,that learns from users and improves over time. In addition, the custom chipset has security at its core, thanks to the new Titan M2 security chip, featuring the most layers of hardware security, making the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, Google's most secure smartphones ever.
Google will show the full range of its Material You design, on the Pixel 6 series, as it is evident from the official videos released ,showcasing the themes,new widgets ,and color schemes that will be available on the phones.
The Pixel 6 is going to be available in an all-black option, a mint green colorway, and an orange-coral finish. Whereas, Pixel 6 Pro is set to be sold in more traditional, black, gold, and silver options.
For us, the Pixel 6 series is the first Pixel smartphone ,we saw Google putting there heart and soul into. Seeing that they have worked on hardware and software departments, along with much needed design upgrade ,which makes the whole package comparable to the current flagship devices. Its definitely a big step from Google, and let's hope, it works wonders for them. And who knows, this could be a beginning of Google becoming something like an Apple, on Android platform.
