Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann are searching a reservoir in Portugal after receiving tip-offs.

The reservoir is almost 50 kilometres from Praia da Luz, where the toddler went missing 16 years ago.

The three-year-old went missing from her hotel room in 2007.

Convicted German sex offender Christian Brueckner has been named the prime suspect in the case.

Mr Brueckner has denied any involvement, but the reservoir near Praia da Luz is the place he allegedly called his “paradise,” and after receiving a tip-off, German prosecutors ordered a new search.
