This session introduces you to the Spanish/Catalan artist, Jose Benlliure y Gil, who was active at the same time as Sorolla. Both were famous sons of Valencia. There are only two paintings by Benlliure in British public art galleries: the Russell-Cotes, Bournemouth and the V&A. You will you see other works by the artist, as well his beautiful studio-house in Valencia.
