The San Jose State Spartan Football team defeated the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, 52 - 43, Saturday night at Spartan Stadium. Rolling up 610 yards in total offense, the Spartans scored 28 second half points to win going away.
On offense, the Spartans were led by Jr. QB David Fales on 25 of 37 passing for 367 yards and 3 TDs. Sr. RB De'Leon Eskridge had a career high 217 yards on 28 carries and 3 TDs. Jr. WR Noel Grigsby had 7 catches for 127 yards, So. WR Jabari Carr also had 7 catches for 82 yards and 1 TD and SR. TE Ryan Otten had 6 catches for 87 yards and 1 TD. Freshman WR Hansel Wilson had a 45 yard reception for a TD and Freshman kicker Austin Lopez hit a Spartan Career long of 45 yards and was perfect for the season on FG attempts.
On defense, Jr. DB Bene Benwikire had 3 interceptions in the second half stopping the Bulldogs, along with a Tackle for Loss, 5 Solo and 3 assisted tackles. Anthony Larceval had a sack, with Sr. DE Travis Johnson adding another to take the WAC career lead with 31.
The Spartans finished the season at 10 - 2 with wins over Navy (7 - 4), San Diego State (Mtn. West Co Champions), BYU (7 - 5) and Louisiana Tech (9 - 3). The Spartans are waiting for a bowl bid.
