(29 Jul 2018) Zimbabwe's former leader Robert Mugabe said on Sunday that he would not vote for ZANU-PF.
"I can't vote for those who have caused me to be in this condition," he declared.
Mugabe was addressing the nation for the first time since stepping down in November and just hours before Monday's historic election.
In a slow and rambling address, the 94-year-old Mugabe spoke to reporters with some bitterness about his dramatic removal under military pressure and amid a ruling party feud.
He also indirectly suggested that the 40-year-old lawyer and pastor, Nelson Chamisa, was his favoured candidate.
Chamisa is the main challenger to his former deputy, whom he fired, President Emmerson Mnangagawa.
