#DYK that our site in Derby, one of Alstom’s largest sites worldwide employs more than 2000 people? Across the UK and Ireland, Alstom has more than 30 sites specialising in everything from train design, engineering, assembly, and testing to servicing, #signalling and #infrastructure.
Next to the design, production, and maintenance of our Aventra fleets, refurbishment of the Pendolino trains operated by Avanti West Coast and the recent landmark contracts for high-speed trains for #HS2 (together with Hitachi) and for the electric and battery-electric DART+ fleet in Ireland, the UK is also responsible for exporting 280 cars to Egypt for the Cairo monorail project. #AlstomServices have a very strong presence in the country, with about 60% of the UK fleets supported by Alstom in some way.
