Professor Likierman believes Brexit would be a real problem for the UK economy. Depending on the renegotiation terms, if Britain were to leave, the City of London could have fewer business opportunities, making Frankfurt a potentially more attractive location to do deals. Meanwhile, other financial centres could take on several roles that London currently fulfils.
