I live in a VERY dry climate and the G string on my Charvel DK24 would slip in and out of tune because of the friction at the string tree. I've always tried to fight it with lubrication but after seeing it removed on the Rick Graham signature model i tried taking the tree off completely and it solved my problem. Give it a try if you're having the same issue
