Kumortuli is a traditional potters’ quarter in northern Kolkata, the capital of the east Indian state of West Bengal. Kumartuli is located near Shobhabazar in North Kolkata. Kumartuli (Kumortuli) is home to talented sculptors who sculpt the idols of Gods and Goddesses. Kumartuli is well-known for the Durga idols that the artists create in there. There are many talented,extremely skilled and hard working potter's who work day and night during puja season and make Durga and other clay idols.
