A Non Governmental Organisation working from Roodepan in Kimberley in the Northern Cape says the impact of high youth unemployment in the province can be seen in the rise in social issue. Simanye Community Nutrition and development centre led a march against Gender based Violence, Substance abuse and Suicide as part of Youth Day. They say voilent crimes, including GBV, drug and alcohol abuse and suicides in the area are increasing because of lack of employment for young people. They say these and other issue are burning issues the community have to deal with. SABC senior reporter, Ulrich Hendriks and video journalist, Thapelo Kgomotshwane filed this report.
