Here we have 105673 collecting Christmas recycle on its Thursday route. Been a long time since i’ve filmed this specific truck but it’s been a Palmdale regular for several years now. A little bit whippy and not a bad truck at all. The main reason I hadn’t been filming this truck is because this truck had a brownish-gray replacement bumper for years that in my opinion made it kind of ugly. But they’ve either painted it into the standard colors or replaced it again as it’s standard black again.
One thing I noticed was how greasy this trucks arm is. Usually they are pretty dry but this one had grease all over it. Made it run pretty smoothly. It’s been interesting watching these 2017 Pete 320s age from when I filmed some of them brand new all the way to them almost being at their eighth birthday. It’s kind of shocking to think that within a few years these will be up for retirement and it’s always so trippy hearing our drivers refer to these trucks as “old”. Most of them have aged pretty well but there’s 1-2 units that are an exception to that rule. Fun trucks and I wish they ran city routes more than they do. 672, 674 and 678 run county, 673 and 677 work recycle routes, 676 does commercial organics in Lancaster, and 675 is a spare (For good reason sadly)
Thanks to the awesome relief driver for letting me film! Cool to run into him on pretty much back to back days on different routes. Goes to show when you’re a relief driver you go wherever the company needs you. A lot of the Palmdale drivers managed to score this week off so there were many relief drivers out this past week.
