Waseem Ahmed Khan, took his initial taalim from his grandfather, the venerated Agra Gharana maestro Ustad Ata Hussain Khan. Thereafter, he trained under his father Ustad Naseem Ahmed Khan. He later became a scholar of ITC -SRA under erstwhile Guru Ustad Shafi Ahmed Khan, his grand uncle. We can hear the grandeur of the Agra stalwarts of the previous century in the rigorousness of his music.

Accompanying him are two artists well known to the Paramparik audience over the last many years - Shri Bibhas Sanghai on Tabla, and Shri Gourab Chatterjee on Harmonium. Both of them, have made their mark on the classical scene of Kolkata and beyond for many many years.

Shri Bibhas Sanghahi has learned his art first from Prof Lalit Mohan Sanghai and Pandit Krishna Kumar Ganguly - the maestro Natu babu and subsequently from Pandit Samar Saha.
Shri Gourab Chatterjee is a vocalist and harmonium player. He has been a disciple of his mother Smt. Ajanta Chatterjee, then Sri Jainul Abedin, Sri Sunil Bose, a veteran of Agra Gharana. Later he became a Scholar of ITC Sangeet Research Academy, under the tutelage of Guru Pandit Arun Bhaduri.

Paramparik, for 17 years, has remained a unique organization with a unique vision, in the city of joy, a well known name in the Indian Classical music circles - for no-frills music that has mijaz, ragdari, and melody. Founded in 2001 by the Kotali Gharana exponent Ruchira Panda, it started with the famed annual classical conference and then in 2003 the rural education and medical units became functional. Today Paramparik is very well known in the remote villages of Bengal - due to a very successful Grad/Post-Grad Scholarship Program for financially poor students. At the same time, almost all the greats of Hindustani Classical Music have performed on the Paramparik stage.
