What does it take for me to love an "all in one" solution?
I have used nearly every single all in one over the years... I first starting playing live on the Line6 PodXT Live back in the dark ages, I've gigged extensively with the Kemper, and I've sat down in studios with AxeFX and the Boss systems over the years. I find that, at the end of it all, I didn't like any of them. But it's not an indictment of sound, necessarily. I am a sucker for a strong, clean workflow and that might be the thing that does the MOST to set the Quad Cortex apart. It's the first of these systems that I find... enjoyable? to use. Thats a big deal because I would have settled for acceptable but here we are. The QC boasts a smooth, flexible workflow and an absolutely great set of sounds. But the biggest deal is that capture system, which we scratch the surface of here. Again, this is NOT a deep dive or a review. This is somewhere between a first impressions and something else. I hope it's helpful.
