The Obelisk of Theodosius, also known as the Obelisk of Theodosius I, is an ancient Egyptian obelisk that was erected in 390 AD by the Roman Emperor Theodosius I in the Hippodrome of Constantinople (present-day Istanbul, Turkey). The obelisk, which is made of red granite, is one of the oldest and largest obelisks in the world and stands at a height of approximately 115 feet (35 meters).
