Catherine Alix-Panabieres, PhD, University Medical Center of Montpellier, Montpellier, France, asserts the importance of studying circulating tumor cell (CTC) lines. In a recent research study, CTC lines were cloned from a patient with colon cancer before and after treatment. Analysis of these CTC lines revealed which CTCs survived. This analysis illuminates which techniques need to be implemented to detect the correct cells and assists in understanding the evolution of CTCs. This interview took place at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2022 in New Orleans, LA.
