Massimiliano Gioni didn’t just choose a selection of highlights from ‘OVR:20c’. The New Museum’s artistic director charted a thematic exploration of Art Basel’s latest Online Viewing Rooms. He naturally identified clusters of artworks: from the oneiric qualities of paintings by Gertrude Abercrombie and Paula Rego, to the eccentric figuration of Roger Brown and Peter Saul. Quoting Japanese avant-garde artist Katsuhiro Yamaguchi, Gioni invites us to an ‘Adventure of the Eyes.’
The VIP Preview days of ‘OVR:20c’ run from October 28, 12 noon CET to October 30, 12 noon CET. They will be followed by public days lasting until October 31, 12 midnight CET.
