UK: Far-Right Protests and Violence Spread in Sunderland & Northumbria After Southport Stabbing
UK Police are bracing for more far-right protests after July 29 Southport stabbing attack. The UK is witnessing rioting in Sunderland and Northumbria. In Sunderland, protesters set vehicles ablaze and attacked a mosque. Anti-immigrant demonstrators hurl bricks and set off flares. Earlier this week, unrest gripped Southport, Hartlepool, Manchester and London. In Southport, protesters threw bricks at a mosque and attacked police. UK PM Keir Starmer condemns the violence. The unrest is fuelled by rumours about the 17-year-old stabbing suspect’s background. Stories on Social media suggest the suspect was a radical Islamic migrant. On July 29, British-born Axel Rudakubana attacked a children’s dance party, killing three. Seven people were left injured, including five children.
