Having not visited the Brontë Country Worth Valley branch in some 18 months, I decided to head up north to West Yorkshire and visit the railway for their first gala event of the year, which in 2014 was known as the 'Steam Spectacular Weekend'.
Making her last appearance in fictitious British Railways early black was newly overhauled S160 class number 5820 aka 'Big Jim', running with a 9 prefix. To share the limelight with this beast the KWVR hired in John Cameron's number 61994 'The Great Marquess'. The full locomotive line up was as follows -
| Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0T number 1704 'Nunlow'
| LNWR 0-6-2T 'Coal Tank' number 1054
| Midland 0-6-0 4F class number 43924
| LNER 2-6-0 K4 class number 61994 'The Great Marquess'
| WD 2-8-0 'Dub Dee' class number 90733
| Lima built USATC 2-8-0 S160 class number 5820 aka 'Big Jim' (running as 95820)
In this video many locations are visited to see goods workings, passenger trains (including an express service) and on shed scenes from Saturday morning at Haworth.
