Now that all the excitement about 2023 hiphop50 is over... This year 2024, What happened to the hiphop51 outside jams or block party ON SEDGWICK?... What's the real truth behind why hiphop51 became a "Walk this Way" March and a party in Crotona Park instead.. Did 1520 and 1600 Sedgwick management stop this years jams/block party from going on in their neighborhood ?? Is the management the real reason krs one turned HIPHOP51 into a march to Crotona park and New Jersey??.. The Truth is, 1520 Sedgwick (Kool Herc's neighborhood) was never known around the bronx to be a place for outside HIPHOP JAMS... For years, many of us never heard of a HIPHOP jams on Sedgwick.. During his era Kool Herc had to go to NYCHA "The Projects" on Claremont Village to throw real HipHop jams outside... So therefore, those NYCHA "Projects" (BUTLER, WEBSTER, MORRIS, MORRISANIA HOUSES) should also be acknowledged as "HIPHOP BLVD" and an integral part of Kool Herc's hiphop career!!...This is a prime example of how low income communities and low income people get cheated out their rightful credit in history!! And as for the "walk this way" march itself...WALKING IS A GREAT EXERCISE WE ALL SHOULD DO MORE OF!!... krs one led a hiphop51 walk/march to Crotona park and says it was "reproducing the cultural migration of hiphop"..but krs one never explained what Crotona park had to do with hiphop early stages...so we ask.. what pioneers put on hiphop at Crotona park? and which years? Young Black simply said the hiphop51 march should've came to "Disco King Mario" Way , which is in the Soundview area... Which is 100% correct..Because even by krs one's own teaching... the Soundview area pioneers (bambaattaa) was next after Kool Herc... So therefore, (according to krs one's own teaching) the hiphop51 march should've went from Sedgwick Ave in the Morris Heights area..to BronxRiver Houses & Junior High School 123 which is in the Soundview area.
