At least 65 people, including seven Indian nationals, are believed to be missing after two buses were swept away in the Trishuli river after a landslide in Nepal's Chitwan area, news agency PTI reported.
Citing media reports, the news agency stated that the Kathmandu-bound Angel bus and Ganpati Deluxe, en route to Gaur, met with the accident around 3.30 am on Friday. The passengers were pushed into a swollen river due to landslides at the Simaltal area along the Narayanghat-Mugling road. According to police officials quoted by myRepublica news portal, there are seven Indian nationals among the missing passenners.
As many as 24 people were onboard the Angel bus and 41 on Ganpati Deluxe, police have said. Three of the passengers of the bus travlleing to Gaur managed to escape after jumping out of the vehicle, reports said.
