Intrepid reporter Gabe McMahon met with fabulous Australian composer Rachel Bruerville, speaking about her newly commissioned work, "The Colours of Light" for wind orchestra.
Inspired by the poem "The Colours of Light" by Dorothea Mackellar, we hear direct from Bruerville's experience creating this brand new work for wind orchestra, where the unique colours of the ensemble provide a playground of musical experiences for performer and audience alike.
The work will be premiered by our award-winning ensemble, the Western Australian Wind Symphony in their next concert, SYMPHONY OF COLOUR at the Perth Concert Hall on Friday 22nd July, 2022.
