Grey-Headed Flying-Fox Tobermory, and Little Red Flying-Fox Finlay, are both hand raised babies who have had health issues requiring staying in care for longer than optimal.
Tobermory didn't make release because he had a wing contracture which never healed well enough for him to fly. He has become an education bat and is happily living his life away with some other ed bats.
Finlay was finally released after spending a lot of time in care waiting for his fingertip injury to heal. He was raised as a single baby because there were no other LR babies in care, so he was a little imprinted till he was sent north for creche and release near a colony with Little Reds.
It's not really common for LRs and GHs to play fight if there is another of their own species in the aviary, but these 2 loved to wrestle it out together.
Nobody was hurt and this is a normal behaviour.
Thanks Mandi for the video footage from your archives. (this vid was taken in 2011).
This video is a fundraiser for Mandi's aviary renovations, construction and improvements.
Tolga Bat Hospital takes donations for the aviary fundraiser.

Mention Megabattie or Meg/Aviary in the PayPal message box and the money will find its way to the aviary building fund.
If no message box appears, please email Jenny to tell her that the money is for me.
IMPORTANT: If you pay through the PayPal Giving Fund which is the preferred method of donating, can you please email Jenny with the amount donated and the name under which you have donated, OR just forward along the PP receipt.
The Giving Fund doesn’t charge any fees (so the bats get more money) but PP doesn’t itemise out the amount, they just send a total every month, and we don’t know if the money is for Tolga or for Megabattie.
Here’s Jenny’s email.
