In the Champagne wine region of France, the best Champagnes are made from grapes sourced from Grand Cru vineyards (Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, Pinot Meunier from the Marne Valley) including the Cotes des Blancs (six communes classified as Grand Cru e.g. Avize, Mesnil sur Oger, Cramant).
