The second phase of the Gujarat Assembly polls is underway. The Times of India looks at the profiles of key players in this phase of voting. First up is Hardik Patel. It's his electoral debut from his hometown of Viramgam and Patel left Congress, to join the BJP. Congress has won the last 2 elections from here. Next up is Jignesh Mevani who is a Dalit leader who won his first poll as an independent in 2017 from Vadgam (SC). He joined Congress and is contesting against his closest rival, Manibhai Vaghela. First time MLA who became CM is Bhupendra Patel. Bhupendra is the young OBC leader who jumped from Congress to BJP.
